WHO'S RIGHT, WHO'S WRONG?

Welcome all to the beginning. The beginning of a long string of (hopefully) entertaining and insightful columns. I'm Nick Anube, a fan of wrestling...period. Whether it be American Pro Wrestling, Puroresu, or Lucha, as long as actual no-nonsese wrestling is involved, I'll most likely be into it. Not only am I an avid fan, but I'm currently training at a wrestling dojo located in Staten Island, New York known as Team NEPW (www.teamnepw.com for more info). So, hopefully, because of my knowledge (or lack there of) of professional wrestling, I can giving you something new to embrace, not just what happened on RAW. Now of course, I have nothing against RAW, nor WWF programming, but I feel that If I talk about other topics, I can give you, the reader something else to think about once you're finished reading one of my columns.

Now, onto business. First off, a common mistake that some people are making on the internet, is distinguishing one particular style as being "superior" to the rest. Whether it be a puroresu fan claiming that the WWF "sucks" because there is not enough consistant workrate within each individual match, or a WWF fan saying that Puroresu "sucks" because all it is is stiff kicks and boring mat wrestling, it really needs to stop. In my opinion it's rather childish. It is simply impossible to say one is better than the other. And what really pisses me off the most is when Puroresu fans claim that all American Pro Wrestling is "garbage" because they look at the workrate of Japanese promotions, and than look at the WWF and associate that with American Pro Wrestling. Stop putting American Pro Wrestling down! And the same goes for Puroresu...many have the misconception that all Japanese Pro Wrestling is garbage/hardcore, which of course, isn't the case. All I ask of you, is to better educate yourself and keep your personal opinions to yourself. Now, for those of you who are reading this and are saying "this guy thinks he knows everything about wrestling, and is better than everyone else", I can tell you that isn't so. I'm just trying to spread some light about etiquette. When you say one style is better than the other, you're basically slapping the wrestler's and fans' faces saying "you suck, these wrestlers are better", and "how can you enjoy this crap?, don't you know this is better?".

Man, it really sucks waiting for tapes to arrive to a dealer from another country. The fact that the dealer recieves the tapes about two weeks affter the show airs sucks big time. Plus, then you have to wait because it takes time to ship it. And finally, it suck even more if it doesnt air on television until weeks later. Oh, and yes, I am talking about the 03.06.02 New Japan show, and no, I cant get enough of the Young Lions.

I really hope Tenzan smacks the suckiness out of Tadao Yasuda on the 03.21.02 show. Although highly unlikely that Tenzan will get the win, anything is possible. Polotics are a bitch, no? Also on that card is Yuji Nagata vs. Scott Norton for the #1 contenders spot for the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Pretty obvious who's coming out victorious in that match. If they screw that one up and put Norton over, I swear I will become an All Japan loyalist.

Finally, the Brock Lesnar debate. A lot of people on RSPW have been showing their excitement towards the debut of the former OVW star. Some have been calling these people marks because that was probably the first time they have seen that monster. A, don't assume, and B....and I stress this...keep your opinion about who is a mark to yourself; noone wants to hear your disgruntled self. People are excited because of his debut, and rightfully so...he is exciting to watch, and his strength is scary. Let people believe what they want to believe, flaming is not needed.
