HOW *YOU* DOIN'? - THE [SLASH] 3RD ANNIVERSARY EDITION!!

Well, what can I say. One day, I got sick of posting on the [slash] message board when I could be saying things a lot more coherently and eloquently in a column ;-) For whatever reason, I'm the type of person who has to mouth off about things. RAW... Smackdown... WOW... TNA (whenever I manage to freakin' tape it successfully)... Tough Enough... Confidential... whatever it is, if it's about wrestling, I seem to be really affected by it, for whatever warped reason. So I always want to talk about what I dug, and what I didn't dig. I try to make points that other people aren't making. I like to hear what other people are thinking. I dunno. I think that kind of stuff is fun.

I started writing towards the end of the Alliance angle. Looking back at my columns, it seems like they used to have points and now they don't :-) Or to put it nicer, it's kind of morphed from a "here is a thought about a specific aspect of how wrestling works" column to a "this is what I thought about what I saw and heard this week" column. Hopefully, I can gradually touch on all the bigger issues by using the specific examples that the current programming happens to be raising. Anyway. Since I started writing columns, we've had a roster split... all kinds of injuries to and absences of top stars... a corporate name change... and we've gone from Steve Austin almost sweeping the r.s.p-w awards to the Internet giving Steve Austin a collective kick in the ass as he gets thrown out the door. About the best spin you can put on this chain of events is that it might make WWE do what they should have been doing anyway. Which does in fact seem to be happening recently. But whatever, I don't really wanna talk about that kind of thing right now.

Mostly, I want to say thanks to CRZ. His recap streak is, seriously, mindboggling. I took a couple of months off from writing my column, for no better reason than that, y'know, I was pretty busy. I also miss a week whenever I feel like it. I would go banoinkers if I felt a true obligation to get something out every week. But guess what, CRZ feels that obligation, and he lives up to it big-time. Not once, but twice, a week, EVERY week, for YEARS. And not only that, he posts all kinds of articles by other people too. And not only that, he breaks news stories. And not only that, he also corrects all of the dumbass HTML mistakes I waste his time by making! And he does it for no reason other than that he loves wrestling, and (I think) he loves wrestling fans!

So, I thank CRZ for bringing the power to the people. I definitely plan to continue to take advantage of his confidence in random strangers, and to keep doing my thing as a [slash] Superstar. If you've ever wondered if YOU should submit an article... well, all I can tell you is, I think you should!
