NATE'S THOUGHTS

Hi, wrestling fans, Nate here with this weeks rant, and I have a lot to talk about. First, allow me to say thank you to those of you who sent me e-mails this week. I do love gettin' em.

Now, on with the show. I must admit, Invasion was a pretty good pay-per-view. I, for one, thought it was doomed, but they managed to put on a descent show after all. However, I don't want to talk about the pay-per-view, I have too many other things to bitch about.

The thing that is foremost on my presently is women. Now, before you get the wrong idea, hear me out. I love T&A as much as the next man. However, I have digital cable, I have a computer, and a video store within walking distance of my house. Also, I live in Tampa, Fl, which I believe is the titty bar capitol of the United States. Therefore, I have unlimited access to T&A 24-7. I am a wrestling fan. The limited time I have every week for wrestling (2 hours of Raw, 2 hours of Smackdown!) should be filled with wrestling. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against women in wrestling. I am a firm believer in equal rights. On that note, I say women should play an equal role in Professional Wrestling. They should be wrestlers or managers or commentators, just like the men. Of all the women in the WWF right now, Lita is the only professional wrestler. The rest of them are just eye candy. Bra and panties matches on pay-per-view, spanking matches on Raw, give me a fuckin' break! When I want to see that sort of thing, I can purchase pay-per-views that only cost $3.95. I miss the days of Wendy Richter and Miss Elizabeth (wrestler or valet, No Strippers). If VKM got rid of these overpriced titty dancers with absolutely ZERO in-ring skill, I bet he could free up enough money to pay a Goldberg, Steiner, Nash, Hall, or Flair. I for one, would rather have one of them than all the pretty girls. At least replace them with someone that Lita could have a credible match with. How about this, book Big Show Vs. Kane in a fuckin' spanking match and see what happens! Well, enough about that.

The other thing I want to bitch about this week is the Undertaker vs. DDP angle. Please, take it somewhere or trash it, because it's starting to bore the hell out of me. It's too 1 dimensional. DDP fucks with Sara, Undertaker kicks DDP's ass, Sara gets injured. Book a match already! It also kind of bothers me that Sara is involved in this anyway. A man who has had the career the Undertaker has had, and for all he has done for our beloved sport shouldn't have to do this kind of angle. You never saw Linda Bollea on t.v. with the Hulkster, no matter how bad the villain of the week was. I know VKM involves his family in the show, but the McMahons are a wrestling family, Mark Calloway is a wrestler who has a family. I just don't think it's right.

Now I want to talk about championships. I know the ECWCW needs to be pushed right now for the sake of credibility, but there still has to be some balance. Not just for the fans, but for the performers as well. Although the belts are just props, they still mean something. If I was a junior card WWF wrestler that had put in my time, took my bumps, but never carried a strap, I'd be pissed right now. I understand the reasons that RVD is the WWF Hardcore Champ, Lance Storm is the WWF IC Champ, and the WWF Champ has defected. However, WCW should throw some of their belts into the game. Hardworking main-eventers like Jericho and angle have no straps. Hard working mid-carders like Tajiri, Edge, Christain, and Scotty2Hotty have no straps. But the one man with the least talent of all, Booker T., has 2 of them. Why can't they work some sort of angle where Booker T. gets into it with 1 of these guys, and gets challenged for the U.S. Title? He could drop the strap to Edge due to outside interference from Christian. That would save face for Booker T. as a "legitimate" champion, and add fuel to the fire in the Edge and Christian jealousy angle. (whatever happened to that anyway?) And, whatever happened to WCW Hardcore Title?

Well, faithful readers, I think I'll leave you with that to chew on. Please, keep those e-mails comin'. C-ya next week!
