Fortunately, Flair could still work the Headlock on Hunger card before leaving the Federation. WWF Monday Night RAW, coming to you from the Richmond Colesium in Richmond, VA 17.1.94 (but taped 10.1) and broadcast on the USA Network. Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Jim Ross, who provide all commentary. I'm sure one of Jimbo's dreams was to work color behind Vince's sterling play-by-play. The Narcissist v. Austin Steele - Vince tells us that last week's episode of MNR was the #1 Cable program in the USA for its week. Good thing they're following it up with this dud. Luger finishes with the superplex, which must be his good guy finisher. Todd Pettengill shows us snapshots of the Rumble Royale and encourages us to order the encore presentation. Jedoublef Jadoubleredoublet v. Ad Break - One last hotline plug. The Pope (John Paul) provides the nonexistant opposition for Jarrett. Vince once again gloats about the #1 rating. I guess I would too if I knew it was probably a fluke. Jarrett pins Paul with a handful of tights, and for an encore DDT's him. Hype for next week's big matchup: The 1-2-3 Kid vs. Johnny Polo. I wouldn't bet on it. though. Just when you thought this storyline was over... Promos: ICOPRO (Ramon), Slim Jim (Savage), Street Fighter 2: Special Championship Edition Men on a Mission (Viejo) v. The Head Shrinkers - You know, reading r.s.p-w is so draining that I don't feel like posting a blow-by-blow for this match. Suffice it to say that Mo gets the rag doll treatment before the hot tag to Mabel, but the Head Shrinkers still manage to win through a combination of devious means, and MOM's utter stupidity. Maybe I'll do better next week. Maybe I'll make sure to put this up before I tackle the four hundred new articles... Adam Bomb v. Tommy Angel - Of course, it isn't too hard to do a detailed report when you're bombarded with an endless parade of squash matches. Totally unnecessary Atom Smasher finishes off Angel. Same ol' Spark[e]y Plugg skit. He debuts this weekend, set your VCRs. Doink (the Clown) v. Joey Stallings - Don't bust a gut, but Dink's walking an invisible dog. It attacks Stallings and referee "Gullible (and Blind)" Joey Morella. Vince: "Another apparition here in the WWF...hahahahahaha..." Admit it, you found it satisfying when Crush and Diesel parted the ropes for Bam Bam Bigelow and he DESTROYED Doink. Another Hotline plug. Another encore ad. Geez, Lord Alfred Hayes sure sounds foreboding. More still shots. If you think my report is bad, wait until Motherway tries to find something funny out of all this crap. Shawn Michaels v. Promos: Rage in the Cage Sega CD game, Stetson cologne, Incredible Crash Dummies carts At least Ross correctly states that Michaels just stood by instead of helping everyone push Diesel over the top. Vince tries to correct him, though. Big splitup teased. Oh yeah, Tyrone Knox is the fish. What does it mean when this guy is the only jobber Vince refers to by his first name rather than last? Hint: he's black. This probably means nothing though. I'm just SO BORED... Vince denies the rumour that CBS wants the WWF to replace the NFL. I know I was worried about that. Ross: "You go Tyrone!" Apparently, he has a really hard head, but still feels the effects of the piledriver. And, once again, poor editing at the WWF studios as we catch a glimpse of the long-lost Intercontinental Belt. Man, I wish there was another squash match... Next week: Kid/Polo (not), Kwang debut. On Radio WWF, Bret Hart. On All-American, Owen Hart interview. Next week: Special interview with Luger & Bret Hart. Vince once again says that MNR was #1. Enjoy the fleeting moment... And, next week's guest commentator is Irwin R. Schyster. Christopher Robin Zimmerman, that RAW guy (in limbo) kzim@ucr.edu I still liked the '94 Royal Rumble
