Actually, it was pretty boring. The Steiners defeated the Beverly Brothers, Bob Backlund defeated Damien DeMento and Jerry Lawler hemmed and hawed and stalled but eventually took care of Jim Powers. Monday Night RAW, coming to you 4.4.93 (but taped 21.3) from the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY and broadcast on the USA Network. Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon, who provide all commentary. We start with some taped segments from Earthquake and Adam Bomb. Unfortunately, on the West Coast , or at least on MY cable system, USA is coming through like ScrambleVision. Earthquake v. Adam Bomb - Since I can't see it, it's hard to do a blow by blow. Suffice it to say that they seesaw for a while. Harvey Wippleman jaws with Howard Finkel until Fink stands up and puffs out, intimidating the manager. Meanwhile, 'Quake comes back from Bomb's finisher (not mentioned by the commentators) and wins with a quake. Let us take you back to WMX. Luger is DQ'd, and quite rightfully so, by Mr. Perfect. A Luger interview shows that he has quite the beef with Perfect. As the interview starts, the cable clears up. Gorilla Monsoon interviews Mr. Perfect. In the background, Vince whines about how he SHATTERED Lex Luger's dream. Perfect stand by his decision, pointing out the five times he could have disqualified Luger. Hes's right, you know that? Razor Ramon v. Austin Steele - Promos: ICOPRO (Ramon), Jurassic Park Action Figures, SF2:SCE carts Apparently, Ramon wants to be known as the Ladder Man. Well, I guess it beats being the Nacho Man. Vince mentions that MOM won the Tag Team belts, but lost them two days later to Les Quebecois. Ramon wins handily. Let us take you back one week as Lou brings out the Head Shrinkers to challenge the Quebecers. Hey, no wonder they lost the belts to MOM! They appear on RAW, then the next day fly to England and take part in a match, jet lagged, not used to the time change... Anyway, the latest news is that Capn' Lou has lobbied WWF Prez Jack "Solomon" Tunney for the title shot but hasn't received it yet. Next week, though, they'll take on one of three teams. Can you see the WWF Voteline plug coming? I knew you could. The choices are: The Bushwhackers, Men on a Mission, or the Smoking Scotsmen. Let us take you back to WMX and the five bad dudes arguing about who's going to be the captain. That big ten man tag match is NEXT! THE MATCH YOU DIDN'T SEE AT WRESTLEMANIA! Whatever. Jedoublef Jadoubleredoublt & Irwin R. Schyster & Rick Martel & The Head Shrinkers v. Thurman "Spark[e]y" Plugg & Tatanka & The "1-2-3" Kid & The Smoking Scotsmen - Wow, what fun. Don't think you're going to see ANY of the matchups you wanted to see (Jarrett/Plugg, Schyster/Tatanka). This match is BOOOOOOORING. After all ten men make an appearance, the ten man brawl rears its ugly head. As the eight illegal men take it outside the ring, Schyster makes the Kid miss a kick in the corner, and pins him. Bad guys win, and Schyster has now pinned the Kid TWICE. Don't expect anyone to remember this, though. Shawn Michaels debuts the Heartbreak Hotel segment, and Diesel plays Ed McMahon. Apparently, Michaels' first guest is himself. WMX: It's unbelievable! Yokozuna v. Scott Powers - He hesitates before delivering the butt drop, but manages to avoid falling and losing the WWF Championship. Of course, since he doesn't have it, it would be pretty hard to do. Promos: NBA Jam carts, Slim Jim (Savage), Bart & the Beanstalk Game boy carts Next week: The Quebecers v. ? (Wisely, Vince did not announce the results of the phone poll, but I'm putting my money on MOM), and probably some other stuff.
