Jannetty WON the belt, with help from a thrown towel by Mr. Perfect. As if that weren't enough, Razor Ramon was pinned by "The Kid--" the same individual who had previously displayed zero offense in the two weeks previous (with two different names yet). The Smoking Gunns made their debut in a squash, and Tatanka also squashed an opponent. Yokozuna demolishes Kamala, and once again it pains me to relive such an exciting hour knowing the hour I have to report this week. WWF Monday Night RAW, coming to you once again from Green Mountain State in Burlington, Vermont 16.5.94 (but taped 26.4) and broadcast on the USA Network. Hype for one of tonight's big matches--the exciting Sumo match between Earthquake and Yokozuna. Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Randy Savage, who provide all commentary. Bam Bam Bigelow v. Thurman Plugg in a KotR Qualifier - Plugg is quickly pushed outside, and amazingly, he goes back in the ring. After taking some general hammering, he comes back with a dropkick that takes *Bigelow* out of the ring. This is deemed worthy of the Double Feature Replay. Did I mention that Luna Tunes came out with Bigelow? Bigelow with a Bam Bam slam. He then misses the headbutt. Plugg punches away, then runs off the ropes for some sort of press which doesn't work, as Bam Bam catches him and slams him again. 2 count. Back to the vertical base and they trade blows. Bigelow gets the upper hand (as you might expect), but runs into a big boot. Plugg goes back to the punches; angered, Bigelow delivers a ghetto blaster. 2 count. Chinlock, Plugg runs out of it, but meets up with a knee to the gut. Dropped headbutt for 2. Another 2 count by Bigelow. Another slam and a headbutt--gee, I hope Plugg doesn't come back. Bigelow chokes Sparky on the ropes. Finally after whipping him into the ropes, Bam Bam makes his mistake and meets up with the cornerpost--hard--after Plugg steps aside. Plugg with bulldog! Plugg with DDT! Plugg with flying body press! Plugg better not win! 2 count. Plugg with small package for 2. Plugg is on fire! Repeated clotheslines by the racercar driver only take Bigelow down to one knee. Luckily, before he can go on, he gets tripped up by Luna while referee "Blind" Dave Hebner is asking Bigelow if he can continue. Bigelow hits a clothesline, goes outside the ring, and delivers a slingshot headbutt for the pin. Todd Pettengill with *your* KotRR. Bret vs. Deisel. Piper vs. Lawler. Address for the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation in Toronto is given. This Foundation is also known as the Vince McMahon Legal Defense Fund, isn't it? The updated chart for the tourney has IRS vs. Mabel and Ramon vs. Bigelow. Next week on Superstars, Lex Luger takes on Jedoublef Jadoubleredoublet. Diesel v. Mike Moraldo - Give Vince credit, he can actually call a sidewalk slam when he actually WATCHES a match. Promos: ICOPRO (Ramon), GI Joe, SF2:SCE Sega carts Undertaker sighting. The King's Court with...er...himself. He berates Piper, whaddaya expect. After an ad break, Ted DiBiase brings out "Nickel and Dime" Volkoff, his latest acquisition. DiBiase announces that he has new tights for his man (which will come out of his paycheque, of course) to wear. They are black and gold and have "PROPERTY OF THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN" and nice big cents signs on them, along with a tuxedo T. It's official, and I'm now going to call Nikolai Virgil II. You know, if Vince and Randy felt so sorry for this guy, why don't THEY pony up some cash so Volkoff doesn't have to work for DiBiase? Hmmmmmmm? And why doesn't Virgil I rush to his aid? Owen Hart v. Tony Roy - That's right, Sharpshooter. Duke "The Dumpster" Droese skit...gee whiz, he's poorer than Volkoff. He LIVES in a dumpster. Promos: NBA Jam, Slim Jim (Savage), Mortal Kombat While the ring crew removes the ropes, let's take an ad break. Hype for next week's big match: Earthquake v. Owen Hart in a KotR Qualifier. Earthquake v. Yokozuna in a Sumo match - The Fink runs down the Sumo rules. Out comes Yokozuna, coincidentally looking EXACLY the same as he always does. Out comes Earthquake (er, Kototenzan) in Sumo garb complete with matching salt bucket. We take ANOTHER ad break. When we come back, they are working on some sort of synchronized swimming routine. Anyway, after an endless amount of stalling--er, psychology-- they go at it and after boring the crowd and the audience, Earthquake wins. I'm sorry I can't make this any more exciting. New dates for the WrestleMania Revenge Tour...10 June/Pittsburgh, 11 June/Niagra Falls. Christopher Robin Zimmerman / kzim@koko.csustan.edu / zimmerma@ucrengr.ucr.edu
