JIM ROSS, JR. REPORT
August 25, 2000

This week it's a short and sweet edition of the Jim Ross, Jr. Report as I am taking it easy out here in Oklahoma. I've been doing a lot of cooking out and getting great use out of my daddy's barbecue sauce.

SummerSlam is this Sunday. The foundation has been laid, now it is time to deliver. Triple H vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock for the WWF Championship should be an outstanding contest considering the individuals involved. The 2 out of 3 falls match between Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho has match of the year candidate written all over it. Every time these two young Canadians face-off they put forth a tremendous effort and produce classic matches. The Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match will be awesome. These same six men delivered at WrestleMania and are bound to do the same this Sunday. The Undertaker-Kane match will be the definition of a slobberknocker. Both of these men throw a mean soupbone right hand. Shane McMahon vs. Steve Blackman and Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Tazz could be show stealers. The "Stinkface" match between Kat and Terri should be a lot of fun as well.

The "Countdown to SummerSlam" special that is airing on MTV is a very good piece for the WWF. Many fans probably didn't realized Kurt Angle gave Jenny McCarthy a wrestling lesson. I hope Stephanie isn't jealous.

Stone Cold is preparing for his return to the ring by hitting the weights and doing a lot of jogging. Steve took the criticism he received last April from fans about his physical condition to heart and is determined to return in the best shape of his career. The Rattlesnake doesn't want to rest on his laurels as he plans on busting his ass in the ring giving 110%. There's no doubt in my mind that Stone Cold is still the number one man in this industry. Oh hell yeah!

I really enjoyed The Rock's segment on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno Wednesday night. There's no doubt that The Rock excels in that type of medium.

For my money the teams of T&A and Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather may be the best tag teams in the WWF right now.

Over 40,000 people have registered for the WWF's "Smackdown Your Vote" campaign. That's just incredible. Thank you to those who have registered and for those you haven't registered yet, what are you waiting for? Your vote will count this November because the Electoral College just doesn't matter.

Many WWF officials are impressed with the way Lita has been performing. This young woman is getting the chance to succeed and the fans have really taken to her. Here's a note to potential WWF talents: YOU control your destiny in the WWF. No one is held back and is given the opportunity to strut their stuff. Lita is a perfect example of that.

While I may be a fan of Goodfather and Buchanan as a tag team, that doesn't mean I am a fan of the RTC. Steven Richards' and his cronies are the biggest bunch of hypocrites I have ever seen. The RTC will hopefully get what's coming to them this Sunday at SummerSlam vs. Rikishi & Too Cool.

It's obvious the folks down south still haven't found out the secret to putting out a great product. I might just have to let the cat out of the bag next week.

That's all for this week. Enjoy SummerSlam!

Take care.
